SIF Video Codec
Cross-platform video transcoding and streaming application based on the Gstreamer framework demonstrated the benefits of SIF codec compared to standard H264.
The transcoding application takes input network media stream encoded in h264 in MPEG transport stream format. Server Linux / windows application demultiplexes input stream (taking requested channel) into 2 child streams – one original h264 stream and another one SIF stream. Transcoder application takes care of buffering, payload packets into UDP, and retransmitting data via RTP.
Windows / Linux client applications listen for H264 and SIF streams via network and display them side by side showing stream type, bitrate, and other video quality metrics for users to compare video encoded by h264 and SIF codecs.

“Working with Nuare development team was (and continues to be) an outstanding experience. They created a video transcoding and streaming application that clearly demonstrated benefits of SIF codec compared to standard H264. They ported their solution to Linux when requested. I highly recommend them as a team of professionals.”
